    10 DAYS/8 NIGHTS - JUNE 7 - 16, 2001

    7, THU. HOUSTON/ENROUTE: Depart Houston on board Lufthansa German Airlines for Venice, via a connection in Frankfurt. All meals served on board as well as complimentary beverages, movies, and earphones for your travel comfort.

    8, FRI. VENICE: Upon arrival and after customs formalities, meet the awaiting Intropa Tours tour manager and motorcoach. Continue into the Venice area for hotel check-in, followed by a short sightseeing tour including a boat ride through two miles of Venice's main street, the S-shaped Grand Canal, which winds through four centuries of Gothic-Renaissance palaces. On foot explore the Piazza San Marco, the heart and soul of Venice and see the great Basilica of St. Mark, one of the world's most magnificent churches. Dinner and overnight in Venice.

    9, SAT. VENICE/PADUA/VERONA/LAKE COMO: Depart Venice and travel to Lake Como via Padua and Verona. A busy art center, Padua was once one of the most prosperous Roman cities in the Venetian area. Dante and Petrarch both spent time in this city, as well as the famous artist Giotto. Visit the Scrovegni Chapel, whose walls are decorated by Giotto’s frescoes, including his famous Pieta. Also see the Piazza del Signori, Botanical Gardens, as well as the city’s Duomo and Baptistery. From here travel to Verona, once a popular art center for many painters, including Pisanello, and the setting for Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Sites around the city include Piazza dei Signori, Scaliger Tombs, the resting place of the family members of the Princes of Scala who ruled from 1260 to 1387; and the Church of San Francesco al Corso, where Romeo and Juliet were married and Juliet’s tomb lies in the cloisters. Arrive in Lake Como for hotel check-in, dinner and overnight.

    10, SUN. LAKE COMO: SING morning service at the Cathedral. After the service, enjoy sightseeing in the area. Evening PERFORMANCE at the Cathedral. Dinner and overnight in Lake Como.

    11, MON. LAKE COMO/MILAN: Full day excursion to Milan. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city including the Cathedral (Duomo), which is considered the finest example of Gothic architecture in northern Italy. The cathedral boasts 135 spires and more than 2,200 sculptures decorating the exterior. The interior of the cathedral, divided by 5 main aisles, contains another 2,000 sculptures. The tour

     

    continues with the most famous opera house in the world, La Scala; the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, and several museums which contains works by Botticelli, Bellini and Raffaello. Attend an evening performance at La Scala if available. Return to Lake Como for dinner and overnight.

    12, TUE. LAKE COMO/LUCERNE/BERN: Depart Lake Como and travel to Bern via Lucerne. Enjoy a short sightseeing tour including the famous Lion of Lucerne, carved in stone by Ahorn in the early 19th century. The Lion lies in a niche hewn out of the cliffside near the celebrated Glacier Gardens. Continue to tour across the covered, medieval bridge which was burned by arsonists and then restored. The bridge is most unique as it adds a flower-filled touch of color to a scenic stroll through the city. Continue to Bern for hotel check-in, dinner and overnight.

    13, WED. BERN/GRUYERE: Morning sightseeing tour of Bern, one of Europe’s most charming cities, with its 4 miles of unique 15th century arcades, cobbled streets, gilded fountains, decorated clock towers and it’s beautiful Gothic architecture. Afternoon excursion to Gruyere. Return to Bern for an evening PERFORMANCE, dinner and overnight.

    14, THU. BERN/MONTREUX: Full day excursion to Montreux, considered Lake Geneva's most popular resort. Tour the Chateau Chillion, a fortress that was initially constructed in the 9th century to defend the major road to Italy. Its recurrent use as a prison was made famous by Byron's poem, "The Prisoner of Chillion". There may also be time for a boat ride on the lake. Return to Bern for dinner and overnight.

    15, FRI. BERN/GRINDELWALD/ZURICH AREA: Depart Bern for Grindelwald, located in the heart of the Bernese Oberland, with it’s exquisite alpine scenery. Time to do a fantastic mountain excursion by cable car, gondola or rack and pinion rail (on your own). Visit the elegant resort of Interlaken - grand boulevards, tranquil waterscapes, flower gardens and memorable view of the Jungfrau Massif. Continue to the Zurich area for a festive farewell dinner and overnight.

    16, SAT. ZURICH AREA/HOUSTON: Depart the hotel and travel to the Zurich airport where the group will board Lufthansa German Airlines return flight to Houston, via a connection in Frankfurt. All meals served on board as well as complimentary beverages, movies, and earphones for your travel comfort.

    TOUR ORGANIZER: This tour is being organized by Intropa Tours, 4950 Bissonnet, Suite 201, Bellaire, Texas, 77401; phone: 800/666-3838, fax: 713/772-4527; expressly for Bering Memorial United Methodist Church.

    TOUR COST, RESERVATION & PAYMENTS: The cost of this tour is $2,099.00 per person from Houston, based on two persons sharing a room. Limited single rooms are available at a $325 additional cost ($225 with homestays in Lake Como). Land only (no air) cost will be $1,399.00. Please return the Land Only form 120 days prior to group departure.

    group accounting is chosen. The airfare portion of this tour may be charged to a major credit card as part of the final payment.

    LATE SIGN UP: Will be accepted after the June 15, 2000, deadline by paying the $100.00 deposit and bringing the account up-to-date as quickly as possible.

    CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY: For anyone who cancels for any reason the following penalties will apply:
    -- Time of booking to 6 months prior to departure - $150.00 per person, plus all additional non-refundable expenses incurred by Intropa Tours on the group’s behalf.
    -- 6 months to 6 weeks prior to departure - $250.00 per person, plus all additional non-refundable expenses incurred by Intropa Tours on the group’s behalf.
    -- Less than 6 weeks prior to departure - $350.00 per person, plus all additional non-refundable expenses incurred by Intropa Tours on the group’s behalf. All funds may be withheld up to sixty days after departure or until Intropa Tours can determine the exact amount of the final refund based on total tour number, changes to the rooming list and prepaid dinners or other events, etc.
    -- On tour cancellation/interruption, medical and baggage insurance are strongly recommended and are offered through Intropa Tours.
    -- All notices must be in writing.

    SPECIAL FLIGHT/LAND ARRANGEMENTS: This tour is designed with a special price based upon all travelers following the same itinerary. All deviation requests must be received in writing and will be accessed the following fees:
    Up to 120 days prior to departure: $100.00 per person ($150.00 per household following the same itinerary) non-refundable deviation research fee.
    119 days or less prior to departure: Deviations will not be accepted. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.
    The deviation fee is in addition to the charge imposed by the airline to make the change and covers the cost of the air and/or land research expenses regardless of whether the passenger accepts the deviation arrangements researched by Intropa Tours.

    LAND ONLY REQUESTS: Tour participants who wish to arrange their own air schedule must advise Intropa Tours in writing (Land Only forms are available from your tour leader/director) no later than 120 days prior to departure. In the event we do not receive a Land Only form 120 days prior to departure, we will assume you are traveling with the group and will bill you as part of the group. Failure to return the Land Only form could result in a penalty levied by the airlines as unused air space.

    TOUR PRICES: Tour cost is based on current exchange rate and is subject to change due to foreign currency fluctuation. The exchange rate used to calculate your tour price was $1.06 equals 1 Euro.

    PASSPORT/VISA: Every passenger is required to have a passport that is valid for 6 months AFTER the tour has returned. US citizens do not need a visa to enter any country included in this tour. Citizens of other countries may call Intropa Tours for referral to the proper visa service. Intropa Tours cannot be held responsible for incomplete or inaccurate travel documents if the passenger does not contact our office in a timely manner.

    LUGGAGE: Each passenger on this tour will be limited to one large suitcase no larger than sixty-two (62) inches (length+width+height) and one carry-on item no larger than forty-five (45) inches (length+width+height). Due to limited space on the motorcoach, it is essential to adhere to these restrictions.

    RESPONSIBILITY & DISCLOSURE NOTICE: Varsity/Intropa Tours, a division of Varsity Spirit Corporation, Inc., acts only as an agent in connection with the tour offered herein and its liability is limited. The travel services including the air transportation, carriage by land, hotel accommodations, restaurants, and related services are provided by independent third-parties not under the control of Intropa Tours. Air transportation is provided by Lufthansa German Airlines. Intropa Tours shall not bear any liability to the passenger or third party for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason or any defect, through the acts or defaults of any company or person engaged in conveying the passengers or in carrying out the arrangements of the tour or performance events, or as a direct or indirect result of acts of God, dangers incident to fire, breakdowns in machinery or equipment, acts of governments, or other authorities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, theft, unhealthy conditions, pilferage, epidemics, quarantines, medical, or custom regulations, cancellations of or change in itinerary or schedule, or from any other causes beyond the control of Intropa Tours. Intropa Tours shall not be liable for any loss or damage or delay related to the travelers’ passports, visas, or other immigration documents required by the U.S. or any foreign government; it is the responsibility of each passenger to ensure that they are in possession of a valid passport, and any required visas for non-U.S. citizens. Intropa Tours shall not be liable for any losses or additional expenses due to delay or changes in schedule or other causes. The right is reserved to decline to accept or retain any tour passenger should such person’s health or general deportment impede the operation of the tour to the detriment of other passengers. No refunds for tour portions or unused services can be made unless agreed to prior to departure of the tour from the U.S.A. Your retention of tickets, reservations or bookings after issuance shall constitute a consent to the above and agreement on your part to convey the contents herein to your traveling companions. Payment of any deposit or final payment shall be deemed to constitute consent by each passenger to these terms. Baggage is carried at the owner’s risk and baggage insurance is strongly recommended. It is recommended that each participant in this tour have his/her own attorney review this Responsibility Disclosure Notice before indicating his/her consent by signing the reservation form.

    Lufthansa German Airlines and/or other participating carriers are not to be held responsible for any act, omission, or event during the time passengers are not on board their carriers or conveyance. The passage contract in use by the carrier concerned, when issued shall constitute the sole contract between the transportation companies and the purchaser and/or passenger of these tours.

    THE COST OF YOUR TOUR INCLUDES:

    AIR TRANSPORTATION: Round trip air transportation on Lufthansa German Airlines from Houston to Venice and return from Zurich using a special group airfare. Restrictions apply. Once tickets are issued they are not refundable except in the case of catastrophic illness or death. In the event you wish to purchase the land only (no air) portion of this tour, the cost will be $1,399.00. You must complete a "Land Only" form and return to our office 120 days prior to departure if you plan to purchase the land only portion of the tour, otherwise we will assume you are purchasing the entire tour including air transportation.

    TAXES: International airline-related departure taxes of $80.00. Taxes are subject to change prior to ticketing. Intropa is only the collection point for fuel surcharges, new airport/airline security charges, etc., and we must collect these on behalf of third party suppliers.

    LAND TRANSPORTATION: Land transportation will be provided by European style air-conditioned motorcoach for the group’s exclusive use during the entire stay in Europe, subject to driver regulations.

    ACCOMMODATIONS: In a mix of tourist and superior tourist class hotels with private bath or shower nightly, based on two persons per room. Limited single rooms are available for a supplement which will apply to those participants who request a single room as well as to those participants who must occupy a single room due to lack of a roommate.

    MEALS: Continental breakfast and full course dinner each day. Dinner does not include coffee, tea, soft drinks, bottled water or alcoholic beverages.

    TOUR MANAGER: Full time services of a multi-lingual tour manager for the entire stay in Europe. The tour manager will act as your interpreter and will assist with tour logistics but is not a tour guide.

    SIGHTSEEING: City sightseeing with a local professional tour guide in major cities as outlined in the proposed itinerary, including entrance fees to attractions.

    TIPPING & TAXES: Tipping is included for all hotel and meal services included in the tour, as well as for tour manager and motorcoach driver. Local government and airport taxes are included.

    FLIGHT INSURANCE: $150,000 free flight accident insurance is provided for each passenger purchasing an airline ticket from Intropa.

    THE COST OF YOUR TRIP DOES NOT INCLUDE: Passports, visas, items of a personal nature, porterage at airports and hotels, optional excursions, independent sightseeing, on tour cancellation/interruption, medical and baggage insurance, meals other than specified, soft drinks, bottled water or alcoholic beverages with dinner or any other items not mentioned as included.

    TOUR COST IS BASED ON A MINIMUM OF 40 PERSONS.
