BIO AND FACTS ON THE CD:
The Sanctuary Choir of Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church presents this CD, "To The Glory of God the Father", for His glory and your enjoyment. This choral group of approximately 85 volunteers, some with professional music background and many with "choir voices" who love to sing, has a ministry to the church and to the community through touching lives via music which rejoices in the Lord. The choir is widely known for high quality concerts at Christmas and Easter, as well as for singing weekly Sunday morning praise and adoration. Director Jonathan Brown, using his God gifts, brings out the musical best in each singer in this multi-age group and has guided many of these choristers through eclectic music forms ranging from gospel to Bach since 1990.
Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church, a large Evangelical Presbyterian Church located in the Southeast area of metro Denver since the early 1980s, is known as a church based in the traditional mode of worship and music. The mission of the church is to use the gifts and talents of the people, as disciples making other disciples, to draw closer to Christ. In this vein, this CD is dedicated to His glory.
The "Christ Window" of stained glass located in the Sanctuary of Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church, visually draws us into worship with six medallions that depict key scenes from the life of Christ. The medallion on the front of this CD is at the top of the window and shows Christ seated in triumph on a rainbow throne. Below His feet are seven golden candlesticks, representing the seven churches of church history. Above His crowned head are the stars of the heavens. Christ holds open the book of the seven seals. The opened seventh seal represents the end of world history. On the pages of the book are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, the Alpha and Omega, signifying the beginning and the end. Also presented are the keys of heaven and hell of the last judgment, in Christ's possession. Around Christ are the towers of the golden city - the New Jerusalem. That the New Jerusalem is a gift of God indicates that we can never fulfill our own desires or destiny, but undeservedly receive fulfillment by God's gracious hand.
Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!" Revelation 5:13
