"Speranza"... no other
title could have been more appropriate for this
disc. I believe indeed that hope has always been the keyword in
my musical adventure: hope to communicate, to give emotions, to share
with as many people as possible all the feelings that each note and each
vibration have given me since that very first night when they started
filling such an important aspect of my life. When I was given the opportunity to lend my voice to this project, I asked myself which songs I could perform, and what the criteria should be for choosing each title: tunefulness, popularity of the original singers, technical difficulty... In the end I simply let my instinct lead me to pick those melodies that would underline things as simple as a memory, a chill, a melancholic moment, or just a smile. The hardest part became doing all this in the very intense and short time we actually spent in the recording studio--thirteen songs in less than two days--while still trying to prevent the color of each emotion from interfering with every other one; I hope I have succeeded in this; you will be the final judges, but what emerges from "Speranza" is indeed my intense relationship with music and how it brings light to my feelings. The chance to bring these wonderful tunes to the United States is for me just a starting point. This is an exciting journey into a new world in which I can take my voice and my soul. To be able to do so with this very Italian music, forever the soundtrack of my life, means so much to me. I would like to thank all the people who have made this possible: thanks to Robert A. Rossi and IdeaNove for believing in me and for producing this work. Thanks to Rob Seible and Kimberle Moon for their precious teaching, their immense support, and their effort to bring my emotions overseas. Thanks to the people who have been near me during this short but intense studio session: Giordano Caminada for his emotional/culinary support, musicians Fabio Mereghetti, Umberto Cassano and Rosella Cazzaniga for their collaboration in writing the track Speranza. Thanks to my mentors Boaz Senator, Michele Fischietti, Andrea Tosoni, Paola Viara. Thanks to my friends, those who daily bring me joy. Thanks to the composers and performers of these 14 tracks, because they give meaning and depth to my voice with their music and words. Thanks to all of you who chose to buy this disc and to close your eyes to enter my world. Thanks to You, simply because You are always there to support me. “Storia di un’età, un romanzo che vivrà nel battito di un’anima” |
