- This page is to share the little
knowledge I have derived from playing with this LCD module, since I have not been able to find any reference
except for the individual T6963
LCD controller and T6A39 from the
Toshiba
Website. Still, the mistery about
the "obsolete" T6961B remains.

- For interfacing details, please refer
to the Toshiba T6963 datasheet
and T6A39
- Header Connector as seen from
the back

NC (FS0)**** |
- C/D = Command / Data
- WR = Write
- RD = Read
- CE = Chip Enable
- VDD = 5V
- VSS = 0V
*Can be connected to Ground. There is a trace
jumper on the PCB to connect pin1 to VDD.
**Unknown. Connected to the T6961 pin 15. Most likely a power
pin. Measures High.
- ***This pin seems to be not connected
to any chip.
- ****FS0 is set to Low by a PCB trace jumper.
This jumper can be removed, and FSO can be connected to pin 20.
-
- Other Set Connections
- The unit is internally wired for the following
options (see the T6963 datasheet
for details)
- FS0 (Font Size) = 0
- FS1 (Font Size) = Externally Programmable
(pin 19), active Low, Internal 10K pull-up.
- DUAL = H (Single Scan)
- MDS, MD0, MD1 = L (8 lines 64 V-Dots)
- MD2 = H, MD3 = L (64 columns)
- SDEL=L (Simple Serial Method, No Even/Odd
Separation)
- -HALT = H (Normal Operation)
